ICAN's New Website - Everything Your Need to Plan Your Future

What a lovely winter day - who else is just done with all the snow?

Since you're stuck inside today I thought this would be a great chance to dive in and explore the new ICAN website.

A few weeks ago we launched our new website and there's just a ton of great information and resource tools to help you figure out your plan for life after high school.

Starting off on the homepage - www.icansucceed.org -  you'll notice a big change. We've organized the site by content rather than by audience. And the top five are right across the top but we'll get to that in a minute.

Some new features I want to point out include our live chat icon, which appears on every page of the site. Sometimes you'll see an envelope on the right side of the site, and when and ICAN advisor is available to chat, you'll see a chat bubble. If you are searching through out site and have questions, click this icon and you'll either be able to submit a question or chat live with an ICAN advisor.

You'll also find links on the home page to schedule an appointment, a link to our events and presentations calendar which shows every presentation and event across the state, and quick links to our scholarship database, setting up an FSA ID, what to bring to complete a FAFSA form, and how to get started with ICAN e-alerts and resources.

Now to our content areas.

About - is all about ICAN. Our history, our services, special events, and resources.

Career Planning - no matter where your interests lie we want to help you find the career that you are passionate about - that you will find meaning and enjoyment in. This section of our website is all about career exploration - assessing your interests, exploring through job shadows and internships, and understanding ALL of your options - from apprenticeships and career training, one or two year degrees, and your four-year options. There are A LOT of opportunities out there - many which you've never heard of but just might fit you - so explore our Career Planning section and find the career that fits you.

College Planning - This section digs into the traditional college planning timeline - academic success, campus visits, college application and selection. This is also where we provide tips for every age - elementary, middle, high school, parents, and returning adults. If college is in your future this is the section of our site that will help you through each step of the process.

Financial Aid - What's your plan to pay for college? Do you have a budget that aligns with your career goals? Do you know how to factor in your career goals when evaluating costs? ICAN can help you with all of this. This section of the site covers every inch of the financial aid process and helps you figure out how to pay for the education or training you need to meet your career goals.

The fifth section is for school counselors and outlines all the ways ICAN can assist schools in developing their career and college readiness programming.

ICAN is here to help in any way we can and the new website is just one more way ICAN is here to ensure students are able to find success.
