It always seems that with uncertainty comes fear and anxiety. Although I think this is natural, and something I understand, I truly believe there is a silver lining that comes with all of this. We live in such a fast-paced world. We are now having to SLOW down because we do not have a choice. Slowing down can be a wonderful gift. How many of you have been able to sit down and eat dinner with your loved ones? I know I haven’t. It seems like we are always running from one event to the next. Why don’t we look at this as a gift? I think many of us are worn down from the busyness of our fast-paced lives. We now have been forced to slow down. I encourage you to use this time wisely and take the time to spend it with the people you love and care about. I think we often take the people closest to us for granted.
I also realize with uncertainty comes many challenges for families. I realize some people’s jobs do not allow them to be home and they have to carry on as normal. My husband happens to be one of those people as he works in the medical field. For those of you who have children at home, I have some ideas for you. Why don’t we spread some kindness by writing notes to the people who are out sacrificing for our lives. This could include nurses, doctors, fire fighters, EMT’s, police officers, etc. I also know nursing homes would love to receive letters for their patients who are unable to see loved ones at this time. There are so many ways we can spread kindness from the comfort of our own homes.
I encourage you to think outside of the box on ways we can help spread kindness around our world today! Remember, each day is a GIFT.
