Many admissions and scholarship applications require letters of recommendation from people who know you well. Think of adults in your life that would give you a glowing recommendation. Consider asking teachers, coaches, employers, or your school counselor. If you are involved in any volunteer work, a volunteer coordinator could also be a good source. Avoid asking for letters from your peers or from anyone related to you.
If you’re asking for a letter, make sure to give that person specific guidelines for what to write, and give them plenty of time to write the letter before the due date. Also, it would be very helpful for you to give them a resume of all the activities you’ve been involved in through high school. Still need to start an activities resume?
