College is the perfect time to travel. More than likely
you’re not married and/or have no children, so there’s nothing holding you
back. If there’s an opportunity to study in another country take full advantage
of it. Most colleges have study abroad or student exchange programs. Plan ahead
and make sure everyone is on board with this decision…your parents, your
academic advisor, and the financial aid office.
Studying abroad will open the
window to experience new cultures and new people. It will help hone your
language skills, it’ll teach you to be independent and fend for yourself. Studying
abroad can get pricey so make sure your finances are in order. Look for
scholarships that will help cover the cost, if you work, save as much money as
possible. Please talk to your academic advisor to make sure the classes you
take in another country will go towards your degree. The key is to plan ahead.
