I was fortunate to have many awesome teachers at Wilton Elementary School, including my wonderful third grade teacher, Mrs. Townsend. When I was a senior in high school, Mrs. Townsend encouraged me to apply for the Robert D. Blue Scholarship, which was then known as the Iowa Centennial Memorial Scholarship. I applied for and received the scholarship, which went towards my college of choice. The Robert D. Blue Scholarship is still available today.
